A woman stabbed a man and a woman on Sixth Street on Monday after they refused to give her money, according to an arrest affidavit filed Wednesday.
Austin police say Paula Livsey, 26, was begging two passers-by, Brian Fiorello and Holly Ritchie, for money near Sixth Street and San Jacinto Boulevard. When Fiorello said no, according to the affidavit, Livsey began hitting him.
The affidavit says Livsey then took a knife from her backpack and slashed Fiorello on his arms and hands. Police said one of Fiorello's fingers was "missing a large chunk of flesh that was later recovered."
Ritchie told police that she sustained a minor cut to her throat, the affidavit said, while Fiorello was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge for "significant lacerations and blood loss."
When police arrived at the scene, Livsey was being wrestled to the ground by an off-duty police officer. Police seized a Smith & Wesson knife with a 3-inch blade that had blood on it, the affidavit said.
Livsey has been charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was in the Travis County Jail on Wednesday with bail set at $75,000.
